[about]

Hearing is another of our five senses – it involves both the verbal and sonic languages of worship. This section focuses upon music and sound as a catalyst for worship.

With the almost solitary emphasis of the spoken word in some of today's worship services, little attention is paid to the sonic language of worship.  Verbal expressions such as singing and speaking have endured to today’s worship services, but what attention do we pay to the music and silences of our services compared to the lyrics sung?  Do we approach our sounds and silences as essential teaching tools, and more importantly, as essential worship?  Will we have been edified, will we have worshiped if we have not been “illuminated” by the spoken word?
